Abstrakt: | The choice of short-fibre composites yields some benefits, but on the other hand, it is accompained with some problems as well. Problems are caused by the structure of injection molded parts associated with the distribution and orientation of short fibres. The influence of material anisotropy and heterogenity of thin-walled plastic products reinforced with short fibres on the state of stress was studied. Curved areas of injection molded parts have been solved by FEM for basic types of idealised quasi-layered structure of plastic walls. The analysis of the mechanical behaviour of an injection molded part has to be developed on two levels: the micro-mechanical and macro-mechanical . On the micro-mechanical level it is necessary to simulate the linearly elastic behaviour of the basic totally oriented 3D short-fibre structure. Macro-mechanics then studies the influence of structural parameters on mechanical properties of the molded part. It is shown that the result of the injection molding process is an anisotropic and heterogeneous product whose mechanical behaviour is in some respect different from isotropic solids. Unlike the unreinforced plastics, short-fibre composite parts exhibit secondary effects of mechanical properties especially in highly curved sections. It has to be carefully considered when designing mechanically loaded plastic products. | ||||||||||
