Abstrakt: | Studies reveal the significance of 'study processes' of students during the various phases of education. The objective of the study was to examine the study approaches and academic performances of Czech High school and University students. Hundred and thirty four high school and university students were selected based on stratified sampling from Zlin, Czech Republic. The study process of respondents was measured by employing the 'revised two-factor Study Process Questionnaire' of Biggs et.al (2001). Descriptive and inferential analysis of data was conducted using the SPSS software. The Study Approaches, Study Motives, and Study Strategies employed by respondents during the study process were examined. There Academic performances were also noted. Respondents have have relied more on 'Surface' study approaches, over 'Deep' study approaches. Negative relationships were found between the Surface Study Approaches and Academic Performances of High School, and Bachelor degree students. It was note-worthy to notice the positive relationship between the Deep Study Approaches and Academic Performances of Bachelor degree students. Study highlights the necessity of identifying, and applying appropriate study processes Approaches (and Strategies) to facilitate growth and effectiveness of education. |
