dc.description.abstract Every new employee of any organisation should go through a vast number of trainings and educational seminars, as well as adaptation program, in order to be able to meet the requirements set by the employee. In today's turbulent times these trainings or educational seminars are necessary for the employees that are within the organisations for a long period of time, especially for the employees of the age group 50+. The most important benefit of educational trainings and seminars is the fact, that these trainings teach the employees how to handle various projects, tasks and other duties that help the organisation to meet the requirements of their clients or customers and therefore to be able to survive in the competitive environment. The article introduces the results of the quantitative and qualitative research that was conducted by the author while writing his doctoral thesis, which was focused on personnel management and specific features of employees of the age group 50+ in Czech and Slovak organizations. The results focus mainly on the educational process of the employees 50+ from both point of views from the employer and employee's point of view. According to Martin (2007), the organisation is aware of the fact, that professional education is more than vital for their effective and profit-gaining activity, and also that the responsibility is the hands of the organisation's management. Every organisation needs to systematically train and educate their employees, in order to be able to achieve their goals. Effective education of employees means higher qualification, which comes hand in hand with higher performance of the given organisation. The goal of the article is to initiate a discussion aimed at professional education of employees 50+ in organisations, from the point of view of the employees as well as from the point of view of the organisation's management. The focus should not be only on the internal or external education, but also on the individual education of each and single employee. en
