Venture capital: Opportunity for the financing of innovation in the Czech Republic or unreal fiction only?

Abstract

Due to the complexity of financial support with an uncertain outcome, what location of innovation on market is, in today's turbulent time full of changes for beginning companies it is very difficult and almost impossible to obtain funding from standard and traditional institutions supporting innovation. Venture capital and venture capital funds represent one of options how to get money for financing innovation projects. Is venture capital an opportunity for the financing of innovation in the Czech Republic or unreal fiction only? The purpose of this paper is to find a relationship between invested venture capital and innovation projects in the Czech Republic, if it exists. We focused on this type of financing in the context of standard institutions supporting innovation and aim to analyze the situation in this option of financing.
