Abstrakt: | In this paper, we perform a new study of the importance of using clamping of the velocity of particles in the Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm. The velocity clamping is used to prevent the particles from rapid acceleration. We present results of testing different settings of maximal velocity on the extensive CEC'13 benchmark set and discuss the results, alongside the overall importance of the velocity clamping method. © ECMS Lars Nolle, Alexandra Burger, Christoph Tholen, Jens Werner, Jens Wellhausen |
