Abstract: | Potentially hazardous wastes from leather industry (blue shavings) are processed into combined organic nitrogen fertilizer with two steps. The first step takes place at high pH (11-12) and hydrolyzation is implemented with potassium alkali, in the second step the pH is lowered to 9 with phosphoric acid after enzymatic dechromation occurs. After filtration and evaporation of excess water, NPK (nitrogen phosphor potassium) fertilizer is produced. The material balance equations are presented. The application of chemical technique and economic optimization is conducted. The results from the presented technique show that it is not only possible to liquidate the potentially hazardous wastes, but also to produce a top quality NPK fertilizer, which makes the proposed technology economically interesting. | ||||||||||
