Abstract: | Investigation of the charge transport in epoxy resin composites of graphite particles coated with nonconducting polyaniline base layer is presented . In contrast with a gradual increase in DC conductivity of composites in the range 20-52 vol. % of pure graphite particles, a steep rise in conductivity, in composites of graphite coated with 10 % of polyaniline at particle concentration 50 vol. % appeared. The frequency and temperature dependences indicate that in both cases at maximum loading (52 vol. %), the material had ohmic conductivity. In contrast, the conductivity of composites of particles with 20 % of polyaniline, in the whole range of particle concentration, only slightly increased. These findings suggest that in case of 10 % polyanilie coating, due to irregular surface structure, a certain amount of uncoated parts is present which enables formation of conducting contacts with ohmic conductivity in the percolation area. The 20 % of polyaniline coating forms a perfect non-conducting layer. | ||||||||||
