Improving effectiveness of ICT integration process in university education

Abstract

This paper describes the tuition of Informatics to future economists and managers at two universities in the Czech Republic: Tomas Bata University (TBU) in Zlin and the University of Defence (UoD) in Brno. An overview of the subject areas, methodology, application of information and communication technologies in instruction and its organization are presented herein. In addition, the experience of teaching and students' knowledge assessment are included. The results of some research activities in the field of Informatics instruction are introduced, and options for future development of the courses are proposed. In conclusion, the value and significance of Security and Informatics-related topics are evaluated.
