Abstract: | This paper examines contemporary situation of research and development (R&D) expenditure, its intensity and compares the R&D performance of the Czech Republic and other countries. The contribution shows the share of R&D expenditure by source of funds and by sector of activity. Research investment decisions belong to the most important activities in the company that have extensive impact on their future development and competitiveness. The risk, uncertainty and higher capital expenditure related with R&D projects lead often to their refusal. In consequence finally part of this article presents few factors that influence evaluation of R&D project and proposal of recommendation how to solve them. |
