Analysis of the cluster landscape in the Czech Republic using social network analysis

Abstract

In the Czech Republic the establishment and development of clusters is linked in particular to the existence of governmental support of clustering in the form of subsidy programs from the state budget and EU structural funds. Currently there are about 35 organized and active clusters in the Czech Republic. Main aim of this paper is to analyze the cluster landscape in the Czech Republic using social network analysis in order to display the structure of the network and the level of connectedness between the clusters. The study showed that cooperation with universities plays a vivid role in connecting clusters of the same and different regions.
