Abstract: | Behaviour of plastic materials during machining was not so far been experimentally investigated. The nature of plastic is an outlying to knowledge of the behaviour of metals. An arrangement monomer chain in the macromolecules makes polymeric material its characteristic behaviour. Their application is significantly dependent on temperature. The scope of application is only for defined temperature ranges. This work is focused on the issue of plastic machining by conventional cutting methods under the condition of CO2 cooling. Results are put into the context to the machining without cooling. As was verified, it is desirable to achieve a continuous flow of chip while cutting to prevent the generation of heat and deformation of the workpiece. |
