Abstract: | The labor market is constantly in flux. It is important to analyze students' interest in work but also the requirements of companies. This article uses a statistical method to evaluate students' interest in working in the financial sector in the Czech labor market. This labor market has increasingly struggled with problems of structural unemployment and with the growth of unemployment among university graduates. Among other factors, students' career aspirations influence the labor market. Using Roe's classification of occupations, a study performed by Tomas Bata University in Zlín at the Faculty of Management and Economics during 2012 and 2013 confirmed that student expectations greatly contradict the real employment structure. This paper analyzes whether or not students prefer professions in the financial sector (generally considered lucrative in the Czech Republic). It also examines correlations between different professions in the financial sector. © Common Ground Publishing, Kamil Dobeš, Zuzana Virglerová. | ||||||||||
