Abstract: | This paper deals with the wall-slip effect on highly filled feedstocks used for powder injection moulding (PIM) technology. Multi-phase compounds are subject of phase separation during injection moulding under high shear rates, and wall slip can be considered as a rheological parameter indicating the tendency to separation between polymer binder and powder. Determination of a wall-slip velocity is performed applying Mooney's method on a capillary rheometer data for three commercially available PIM feedstocks. It was found that the wall-slip in the flow channels depends especially on a polymer binder composition. |
