Abstract: | Within the context of public health protecting in the Czech Republic, the key law is the the law no. 258/2000 Coll.: "On protection of public health and amending certain related laws, as amended". To Human health is important to ensure quality and safe drinking water. The most important and comprehensive European Union's legislation is Water Framework Directive (2000/60/EC) of the European Union, which applies to all waters. The Czech Republic's or eventually European Union's population health status is influenced by a quality of drinking water, and water used for various purposes as well. The water is polluted by various substances, including remnants of drugs. The presented professional contribution is focused precisely on this subject, including some basic legal standards.
