Abstract: | The current changes in turbulent environments require new approaches to business rather than doing business as usual. However, the key attribute remains the objectives of the business strategy itself. The purpose of this study is to identify the main motives leading to strategic business objectives planning on the sample of Slovak enterprises (N=455), and subsequently to examine the companies’ strategic business objectives in terms of size, origin of capital, company vision, sustainability influences, and sustainability tools. The emphasis is placed on the strategic planning of business objectives in the context of sustainable development. The six hypotheses were set and they were tested by.05 level of significance. Methods represent mainly descriptive and inferential statistical techniques. The results indicate that there is a clear statistical difference between enterprises with a short and long-term focus in terms of the strategic business objectives planning. The most frequent strategic objective is customer/employee orientation. Finally, the interconnection between strategic objectives and selected research parameters is proven. © Vilnius University, 2002-2019 & Brno University of Technology, 2002-2019 & University of Latvia, 2002-2019. | ||||||||||
