At the beginning of the article are sections devoted to the history, development, and future possible direction of healthcare. It focuses on the implementation of the information system, ensuring its security and data protection. Followed by general information, characteristics, and elements of healthcare 4.0. Emphasis is placed on the benefits, problems, and possible complications associated with e-health. It provides an overview of the current state of use of the electronic documentation system in some European countries and in the world. © 2021 International Multidisciplinary Scientific Geoconference.
